The Church of San Salvador de Outeiro is a fine example of Romanesque architecture, set in picturesque rural surroundings. Built between the 12th and 13th centuries, this church is notable for its simplicity and elegance, characteristics of the Galician Romanesque style. Its main façade features a beautiful rose window and a doorway with decorated archivolts, whilst inside one can admire capitals carved with plant motifs and human figures. Over the centuries, it has undergone restoration work that has respected its original character, making it a living testament to the region’s medieval history.
