Mural of Julius Caesar

Mural of Julius Caesar

An internationally acclaimed mural opposite the walls of Lugo.
The Julius Caesar mural is one of Lugo’s most iconic works of urban art and a tribute to the city’s Roman past. Located on the Ronda da Muralla, it stands out for its large size and prime location, right in front of the Roman Wall. Created by the artist Diego AS, this monumental mural covers the entire façade of a building and is rendered in shades of grey, resembling a classical sculpture. Its visual impact and its connection to the history of Lucus Augusti have made it a landmark of European urban art. Nearby is the Castrexa mural ‘Copora’, by Manuel Pallín, which completes this artistic tour with a glimpse into Galicia’s pre-Roman past. Both works form part of an urban art trail that coexists with the city’s historical heritage.
