The San Roque Archaeological Centre offers visitors the chance to explore one of the most important burial sites in ancient Lucus Augusti. Located outside the ancient Roman walls, this site preserves archaeological remains that reveal what funeral rituals and life on the outskirts of the city were like centuries ago.
Excavations have uncovered tombs used over several centuries, as well as structures linked to funeral ceremonies and ancient crafts, such as a kiln for making pottery.
The visit combines original remains, archaeological finds and audiovisual resources that help visitors understand the historical significance of this site and the Roman world in Lugo.
